If You Haven't Shopped Universal Thread, Here's What You Need

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! Happy Weekend! Earlier this week I showed y'all my new favorite cozy transition piece for spring from Target's Universal Thread collection. This collection has so many staple pieces that are on my personal shopping list when Lent ends next week. I know I've spoken on my decision to give up shopping for Lent a couple of times, but y'all this has LITERALLY been the hardest thing to do. My closet needs a definite refresh and some spring vibes! And I'm looker no further than Target and Universal Thread so I wanted to share my top picks from the collection that I believe everyone needs in their closet. AND not a single pick is over $30! Happy Shopping!

A cardigan is always a must for spring. You never know what kind of weather you might be walking into when you walk out the door in the morning. Having a light weight sweater that is good for layering can solve the problem for the days when it's chilly in the morning, but warms up by lunch time. I'm especially loving this cardigan because it comes in 4 colors- black, olive, blue, and blush- all of which are great for spring time and complimentary layering colors.

I'm loving this chambray ruffle sleeve dress for so many reasons. First and foremost, it's such an easy dress to throw on and go. It can easily be great for the work week with some heeled sandals and statement earrings, but also be your go to for the weekend with sneakers. It's also super light, which means you'll get some great wear out of now and throughout the coming summer months. It comes in blue and black so whichever color you're drawn to will be perfect for the coming season and you'll get a real bang for your buck with the number of times you'll be able to wear it! Probably going to need it in both colors, just saying.

This is the same sweater I was wearing and loving earlier this week here, but in black. It's such a great piece, is very light, and the way knit fabrics means it breathes well when you're wearing it. It comes in tan and black, which makes it incredibly versatile and great for layering now with jeans and a light jacket and later with a pair of shorts and sandals.

Tunic Pullover - $24.99

A romper of some kind is definitely another spring and summer wardrobe staple and on my personal shopping list for the warm months. There are so many different styles, patterns, and colors that are popular right now, but since I'm leaning more on the side of versatility these days this one is perfect. It comes in three different colors- olive, black, and blue. This makes it super easy to pair with different accessories and style so many different ways depending on the weather and occasion. I'm especially looking forward to wear this one with my Nike Cortez's with the gold swoosh that I got last summer and that you've seen herehere, and here.

A cute pair of chunky sandals are a must have for warmer months because they are easy to style with almost anything in your closet and they're comfortable. And when it's warmer, or even hot, in the spring and summer months the last thing you want to be is uncomfortable in your clothes and shoes. Again, these come in both black and brown. Either pair is a great pick up and will look so cute with all of your spring and summer dresses, jumpsuits, and shorts!

My last must have for today is a pair of the cropped jeans that are all the rage right now. I've tried on several different brands for cropped or mom jeans. I've had a lot of misses compared to my hits. I don't know if it was my shape or the way the jeans were made, but I was getting really discouraged when it came to find a trendy and affordable pair. Until I saw these jeans. They are super flattering and the denim, like all Universal Thread pieces, feels great on your body. It gives without stretching and you can tell that the fabric is made to last. Universal Thread, and Target in general, has a couple of options for this style of denim. I'm personally loving the washed, faded black look. You'll see these soon, mark my words!
