Workout Wednesday: Holiday Edition

Hey y'all! I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday! I'm sure you all are feverishly getting ready for tomorrow's festivities and are ready to slightly indulge in every decadent and delicious dishes. Thanksgiving is an awesome holiday, don't get me wrong, but it can easily take us down the rabbit hole of all of the forever feared holiday weight gain. If it makes y'all feel better, you are not alone. All of us who are dedicated to the healthy life are facing the same temptation.

As a part of tonight's edition of Workout Wednesday: Holiday Edition, I'm letting y'all in on my little secrets for conquering the holiday side dishes and remaining faithful to the hard work you've put in all year. It's inevitable to avoid certain favorites like stuffing and pumpkin pie, but my secret has become to pick and choose my indulgences carefully. If I have one thing, I'm not having the other. Does that makes sense? And to help in not feeling as badly about having a slice of pie, my other secret is to do a workout on Thanksgiving morning to help get your metabolism going early and burn some calories on the front end. There are tons of "turkey trot" 5k's all over the country. Nike Training Club is even doing one through its app! Couple some cardio with today's workout and Thanksgiving will be a breeze!
