Workout Wednesday: Holiday Edition



Happy Wednesday y'all AND welcome back my favorite series on the blog: Workout Wednesday! This time around all of our Workout Wednesday's will have a central theme of helping you get through the holidays and sticking to your fitness goals even all of the holiday temptations are calling your name! I'm also very, very excited for today's post because...you see those babies on my feet? YES Y'ALL! I am now the proud and slightly obsessed owner of a pair of Nike Vapormax! I'm obsessed.

Okay back to the task at hand. Each week will have not only a workout for y'all to do, but also some of my personal tips for conquering the holiday season and making it to the New Year mostly unscathed. Let's get started! 
For those of you who follow along with me regularly you know that health, fitness, and sportswear are some of my top priorities in life and on the blog. From a health and fitness perspective I work hard in the gym and in the kitchen to give my body all of the TLC it needs to be its best. After all, I only get one. I'll admit to you the holiday's are extremely tempting to me just like I'm sure they are for y'all. My biggest hurdle is the weather and time change. With it getting dark so early and those temps falling quickly all I want to do when I get home from work is put on my sweats and cozy up with my iPad. But I know I can't and I have to find new ways to get my butt to the gym. Here are my top 3 tips:

1. Set yourself a schedule and STICK TO IT! I wake up in the morning already having decided I'm going to the gym when I get home. When I set my schedule for my workouts I'm holding myself accountable to get to the gym that evening no matter how cold it is outside or how tired I am from the day. And you know what? I never regret it once I'm there.

2. Change up your workout routine. It's easy to feel like your in a workout rut, especially at the end of the year. When I feel this coming on I make sure to ask my trainer for something new to challenge myself. And he ALWAYS delivers. Haha. 3. Add some new pieces to your wardrobe. This one is my favorite. We all know I love getting new Nike gear and I can never get enough of it. I think this is really one of my biggest motivators for staying in the gym. I'm a believer that if you look good, you feel good so having gear that I love to wear on a regular basis only makes me want to be in the gym more.
Without further ado, here's the first workout for the holiday edition of Workout Wednesday. Remember to always get in a good stretch before and after the workout and incorporate some cardio to warm up your muscles. Enjoy!
