Would You Like to Be My Sunshine

There are some colors that I am so weary of when I walk into a dressing room. There are just certain ones that, no matter how badly I want them to work, they just do not get along with my porcelain skin. Yellow is usually one of those colors, which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped out of the dressing room, stood in front of the 3-way mirror, and like what I saw.
I've been transitioning back to my natural dark-ish hair color so I think that and the gold tones of the tops paired well together and left me pleasantly surprised. I wore this top when Chaneya was visiting a few weekends ago and also loved how the top looked with my new distressed jeans. I had only previously worn this top to work so I had yet to see how well it would style in a more casual setting. I'd say this was a winner.
The final reason I'm falling in love with the marigold color of this top is because, just sitting here writing, I can think of at least 3 other outfits I can put together with this piece as the focal point. I guess I hadn't realized how many colors pair will with this shade of yellow, but now it has me even more excited to try out a couple of different looks in the coming weeks!

Have y'all ever had a color that you thought was not going to be in your pallet and then were surprised how it actually looked? What color would you want to try, but haven't before?
