5 Jackets You Need for Fall

Now that the temps are dropping below 80 degrees, the unofficial start of fall has begun. This is my favorite time of year. I love the colors the leaves change into as they begin to fall from the trees. I love the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon when you walk into a house or restaurant. Oh, and the apples in North Carolina this time of year are to die for.

With the change from summer to fall jackets are an essential part of my wardrobe. Not only do they serve the purpose of utility, but they are also so many styles to choose from that can pull together an entire look. Keep reading for my list of 5 jackets you need for fall...
One of the things I can't stress enough is purchasing pieces in neutral tones to allow for versatility in your fall wardrobe. Jackets are incredibly easy to dress up or down so having a solid arsenal that compliments your outfit can be a game changer and allow you to create several different looks using the same couple of pieces.
1. Utility Jacket: this is probably one of my favorite jackets for fall as you can see from the photos. Different shades of army green or olive are usually the standard because they pair nicely with so many different colors and pieces that are popular this time of year. I decided to buy a new one that was a little more unique with the floral embroidery, which adds so much to the jacket. I just can't get enough of it! I've linked some styles for males and females here and here.

2. Bomber Jackets: to me, bombers are the ultimate expression of cool in your outfit. They are incredibly easy to dress up or down and pair nicely with lighter pieces underneath in the fall and heavier pieces in the winter. I have my heart set on a black one for fall and winter, but I'm also loving some of the details and embroidering in some of the styles for this season. They're are so cool and unique it's hard to choose just one. I've linked my favorites for males and females here and here.

3. Wool Blend Coat/Pea Coat: I love a good pea coat for fall because it's a piece that can easily be dressed up or down. You can easily wear a pea coat with jeans, boots, and a sweater and then switch it up with a dress or slacks. I'm in need of a new one for this fall because most of mine have gotten too big. My favorite styles for males and females can be found here and here.

4. Sportswear: a sportswear jacket makes my fall list because it is an easy throw on and go jacket for the days where I'm keeping it super casual and rocking tights and running shoes. Because I get dressed everyday during the week for work, having comfy clothes to wear on the weekends is my saving grace. My favorite picks for males and females are, of course, pieces from Nike and can be found here and here

5. Blazer: now I know for males blazers are very much a year-round piece, but I have have always loved the fall styles a little more than any of the others. The colors and detailing in the fall blazers are so cool and appropriate and preppy, it just encompasses all the the fall fashion adjectives. My two favorites for males and females are here and here.

What are the must have jackets for y'all?
