Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everybody! I hope you all have been having a fabulous week and are looking forward to an even more fabulous weekend! For me, this has been one of best weeks I've had in a while- got to spend time with friends, do so cool things for the blog, and received some exciting news from an unlikely source! Enjoy the Friday favorites and have a great weekend!

Favorite Thing I Did This Week
Any day I get to spend with my friends doing absolutely anything like retrieving lost items or acting like elementary school kids and playing on the swings in a park are always my favorite things. As long as I get to be spend time with them I am happy as a clam. With so many of my friends doing great things all over the continental USA, I've also realized how important it is to make the most of the opportunities I have to spend time with them because they can be rare. I got to do something really fun with one of my best friends this week (y'all will see the finished product soon!). He's always very supportive of my crazy ideas, even when they are going to require his participation. Here's one of my favorite photos form the project we worked on earlier this week.

Favorite New Clothing Line: A New Day by Target
I was in Target last week and noticed this new collection as I was roaming through the women's clothing section, ya know typical Target things. This collection caught my eye because of the cross between feminine details and men's wear, which are my two favorite types of fashion. The pieces are either have the feminine details such as embroidery and florals or are the total cool girl vibe that naturally comes with menswear. This line goes public and will be available at all stores and online August 27th. Be sure to check this out next time you're in Target. I have a feeling the pieces won't be on the shelves for very long.

Favorite Fall Tablescape
Ya know, because I love fall and all of the things.

Favorite Fall Anticipation Piece: Loft Botanical Bomber Jacket

I loved everything about this jacket when I saw it in stores a couple of weeks ago. Not only it a great fall transition piece, but it's very different from the typical solid color bombers that pop up everywhere in the fall. When I was getting dressed this morning and deciding what I wanted to wear with it, I even noticed how many pieces I already had in my closet that would style perfectly with this bomber. It made the purchase even more worth it to me!

Favorite Article I've Read This Week: Gopher Athletes Make Significant Strides in Athletics

This article is living proof that there is always something more that can be done to make things better. University of Minnesota reflects on some of the lowest points their department has experience in the past 10 years as it pertains to student-athlete academic performance. It took hitting rock bottom and losing athletic scholarships for them to realize a change had to come not just for the sake of the department, but for the sake of the student-athletes they support. As a Student-Athlete Services professional, it is always a breath of fresh air to see academic support departments stepping out of their comfort zone to make improvements and leaves me wanting to cheer for them the whole way!
